Enlisted Combat Aircrew Roll of Honor

 
The U.S. Navy, Marine Corps, and Coast Guard Enlisted Combat Aircrew Roll of Honor was dedicated aboard USS YORKTOWN at Patriots Point Naval and Maritime Museum on 10 Oct 1996. All who have served Naval Aviation in the U.S. Navy, Marine Corp and Coast Guard are encouraged to nominate qualified candidates for induction into the Roll of Honor.

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS

1. Candidate shall have been in U.S. Military enlisted status at the time for which nomination being made.
2. Candidate must have been exposed to actual combat a an U.S. enlisted crewmember of a U.S combat aircraft, including but not limited to air to air, air to sea, air to ground encounters and rescue missions under fire.
3. The action(s) for which nominated shall be distinctive in nature, and will be determined by the selection board.

Nomination forms may be downloaded from the Roll of Honor website at https://www.combataircrewroh.com. This form is automated which will allow you to fill it out using a computer. Simply open the form from the website and save it to your computer. You can then fill it out and save it. Once you have completed the form, email the form to the aircrew ROH board. Subject: ROH Nomination (name of nominee). Email the form to combataircrewroh@gmail.com.

There will be two versions of the form available. One is a Microsoft Word document and the other is an Adobe PDF. Use whichever form you are comfortable with. If you do not have a computer, have someone print a paper copy for you and complete it using pen and ink. Pen and ink copies should be mailed along with the "Items to Submit to the Board" listed below, to the following address:

ITEMS TO SUBMIT TO THE BOARD
(Your Packet)

1. A story (your story) of one or more combat actions influencing nomination      (prolonged exposure to combat environment may be used in justification).
2. Include any available supporting documentation.
    a. Signed copies of combat Awards/Citations.
    b. Signed last page of flight record (OPNAV Form 1326-2) which should tell how       many combat missions flown.
    c. Signed copy of Personal Award Recommendation (OPNAV Form 1650/6).
    d. A signed copy of the Nominees Report of Transfer or Discharge (DD214 Certificate       of Release or Discharge from Active Duty).
3. Any news or magazine articles.
4. Write ups from friends or aquaintanances
5. Photos of the nominee from the combat timeframe.
6. Anything you think will help with your nomination.
